Ticket to Ride

10/19/2011

Riding boots are back! Borrowed from equestrian style, riding boots were originally made high enough to keep the rider’s leg from being pinched by the leathers of the saddle and given a distinctive heel to keep one’s foot from sliding through the stirrup. They were one of our favorite boot styles last year, and this year is no different. They’re casual, yet chic. The riding boot on the top right is available online and in stores. The slouch riding boot with a sock inset has a look that far exceeds its price tag. There’s something very sophisticated about the Oxford style lace-up riding boot above. It’s available in stores now and we love the nod to menswear that the perforated detail brings to the toe and heel. Riding boots look great with other timeless peices. Pair yours with a dress, tights and a cardigan or skinny jeans and a button up. Try topping your look off with a blazer or a hat, another fall favorite of 2011.
